Mini vs. Standard Llama

The American Miniature Llama Association was founded in 1999. Miniature llamas are registered coast to coast with two international exports having occurred and membership existing in nearly every state. Exciting steps have helped our association strengthen and solidify itself as a force in the llama industry. Let it be known AMLA is recognized and acknowledged in the llama industry.

AMLA has been written about in Lama Banner, Lama.Com, Lama Life II, American Livestock Journal, Exotic News, Rare Breeds Journal and Farm Show all known industry magazines. There are other articles of interest being published at the state and local llama club levels. AMLA receives inquiries on a regular basis. With the ILR now recording our certificates and keeping our records including membership and advertising this has helped AMLA become a fine tuned association.

Our breeders continue to breed the miniature for all the right attributes and are maintaining the quality of the miniature llama. Mini llamas are here to stay for many reasons; people who may not care for the larger counterpart or just the size in general of a standard llama, or perhaps don't have enough room for standard llamas and need something smaller. Miniature llamas would be a perfect solution to their problem. AMLA believes that having a new market to sell to without competing with standard breeders is a great bonus for the mini breeder. Our members agree; they think nothing stands so tall as the mighty mini llama!
